Behavior Patterns
They are nocturnal, emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult). The presence of blood spots and dark fecal spotting on bedding are common indicators.
Risks & Benefits
They are significant pests that cause itchy bites and psychological distress. While not known to transmit diseases to humans, they can cause allergic reactions and secondary skin infections.
