Booklouse

Damp areas with high humidity, such as under wallpaper, in pantry goods, or near old books and papers.

Feeds on microscopic mold, fungi, starches, and organic debris.

Wingless and flattened in shape, they are active crawlers that thrive in moisture but are not social insects.

Harmless to humans and pets as they don't bite; however, they can contaminate dry food or damage book bindings if present in large numbers.
