Behavior Patterns

Mainly nocturnal, emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and can survive for months without a blood meal.

Risks & Benefits

A significant public health pest causing itchy bites, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. They do not typically transmit diseases but are difficult and expensive to eradicate.
