Size: 4 to 5 mm (adults), roughly the size of an apple seed.

Natural Habitat
Indoor environments, specifically in close proximity to human sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and furniture crevices.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Mainly nocturnal, emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and can survive for months without a blood meal.
Risks & Benefits
A significant public health pest causing itchy bites, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. They do not typically transmit diseases but are difficult and expensive to eradicate.
