Cockroach nymph, likely German cockroach

Warm, humid indoor areas, especially kitchens, bathrooms, appliance motors, cabinets, and wall voids.

An omnivorous scavenger feeding on crumbs, grease, starches, pet food, paper products, and other organic residue.

Mostly nocturnal, fast-running, and prone to hiding in narrow cracks. Females carry egg cases until hatching, allowing populations to increase rapidly indoors.

Can contaminate food and spread microbes mechanically; shed skins and droppings may trigger allergies or asthma. It provides little household benefit, though cockroaches recycle organic matter outdoors.
