Case-bearing clothes moth larva (likely)

Indoors, especially in dark, undisturbed areas such as closets, carpets, upholstery, and stored textiles. The larva carries a portable fiber case and may occasionally be found on clothing or people.

The larva feeds on keratin-containing materials, including wool, fur, feathers, hair, and shed skin, rather than blood.

It lives inside a silk-and-fiber case, extending its head to feed and retreating when disturbed. Adults are small moths and do not feed on fabrics; development is favored by darkness, humidity, and accumulated lint.

It does not bite, infest skin, or parasitize people, but can damage woolens, fur, carpets, and other animal-based textiles. It contributes modestly to decomposition of keratinous debris.
