Cockroach, likely German cockroach

Warm, humid indoor areas—especially kitchens, bathrooms, wall voids, and appliances. The image’s small, light-brown insect and indoor setting are consistent with this species, though the blur limits certainty.

An omnivorous scavenger that feeds on crumbs, grease, starches, pet food, cardboard, and other organic residues.

Mostly nocturnal, fast-running, and concealed in cracks during daylight. Females carry egg cases until hatching; populations can grow rapidly in heated buildings.

Can contaminate food and surfaces and spread allergens associated with asthma and allergies. It has little meaningful household benefit, though it contributes to decomposition outdoors.
