Mostly nocturnal, fast-running, and secretive; they hide in cracks by day and reproduce rapidly indoors. The pictured insect appears wingless and dark, consistent with a young nymph.
Risks & Benefits
Can contaminate food and surfaces and contribute to allergies or asthma through shed skins and droppings. They provide little household benefit, though cockroaches recycle organic matter outdoors.
