Behavior Patterns

Adults are active fliers and are attracted to light; they do not feed during the adult stage. Larvae are the primary feeders, tunneling through food sources and leaving behind webbing.

Considered a significant household and commercial pest; can damage food supplies and historical museum specimens. They do not bite or sting and are not known to transmit diseases to humans.
