Small pantry beetle (likely a flour beetle)

Stored-food areas, cupboards, mills, and grain-processing facilities. Adults and larvae occur in flour, cereals, grains, spices, and other dry plant products.

Feeds on milled grains, flour, cereal products, nuts, and other dried foods. Larvae and adults may both infest packaged goods.

Mostly nocturnal and active in warm, dry storage areas; populations build unnoticed inside food packages. Females lay eggs among food particles, and several generations can occur annually indoors.

Not dangerous to people and does not bite, sting, or transmit disease, but it contaminates stored food with bodies, feces, and odors. It has little meaningful ecological benefit indoors.
