Behavior Patterns

Primarily nocturnal or crepuscular; they are often seen Resting on vertical surfaces during the day. Their flight pattern is zigzagging and low to the ground. They are highly attracted to artificial lights.

Risks & Benefits

No risk to humans or pets; however, large populations of larvae (sod webworms) can cause brown patches and damage to ornamental lawns. They serve as a food source for birds and spiders.
