Unidentifiable small beetle (possibly a carpet beetle)

Often found indoors near fabrics, carpets, stored materials, windowsills, and light sources.

Adults consume pollen or little food; larvae feed on wool, fur, feathers, hair, dead insects, and other keratin-rich materials.

Adults may fly toward light, while larvae remain concealed and develop slowly in dark, undisturbed areas. Identification requires close-up views of body shape, pattern, and antennae.

Larvae can damage natural-fiber textiles and occasionally cause dermatitis from irritating hairs. They are also decomposers that recycle animal-derived organic matter.
