Natural Habitat

Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal insects that are strongly attracted to artificial lights. They have a clumsy flight pattern and are often seen banging against windows or porch lights during late spring and early summer.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless to humans as they do not bite or sting. However, the larvae can be significant agricultural and lawn pests by damaging root systems, while adults may cause minor defoliation of ornamental plants.
