Adults are attracted to light and often found near windows. Larvae prefer dark, undisturbed areas like under baseboards or inside closets where they slowly consume organic materials.
Risks & Benefits
They are major household pests that can damage clothing, carpets, and upholstery. While they do not bite humans, larval hairs can cause allergic skin reactions (dermatitis) in sensitive individuals.
