Diet & Feeding
They feed on sludge, slime, and gelatinous films of algae, bacteria, and fungi that accumulate in drains.

Larvae are aquatic or semi-aquatic. They breathe through a small tube at their rear end and can survive in low-oxygen environments by staying at the surface of the slime layer.
