Predatory; it pierces caterpillars, beetles, flies, and other insects with its beak and sucks out their body fluids.
Behavior Patterns
Usually solitary and ambush-oriented, resting on vegetation while hunting. Nymphs develop through several molts before becoming winged adults; the pictured insect may also be a different green reduviid nymph.
Risks & Benefits
Beneficial for natural pest control. It can deliver a painful defensive bite if handled, but is not considered medically dangerous.
