Behavior Patterns

Adults overwinter in leaf litter or soil and emerge in spring. They are highly active during the day and are known for their ability to quickly locate host plants via chemical cues.

Risks & Benefits

Significant agricultural pest; they cause direct feeding damage and are primary vectors for Bacterial Wilt (Erwinia tracheiphila), which can kill entire crops. They provide no significant benefits to humans.
