Masked hunter nymph

Dry, sheltered places such as buildings, wall voids, basements, sheds, and woodpiles; commonly found in temperate regions, including North America and Europe.

Predatory, using a piercing-sucking beak to inject enzymes and consume fluids from insects, spiders, and other arthropods.

The nymph is covered with dust and debris for camouflage, giving it the rough, lumpy appearance shown. It is mostly nocturnal and develops through several wingless nymphal stages before becoming a winged adult.

It helps control household and outdoor arthropod pests. Although not aggressive, it can deliver a painful defensive bite if handled; it is not considered a major disease vector.
