Natural Habitat
Indoors, they are commonly found in carpets, upholstery, stored clothing, or pantries. Outdoors, they inhabit bird nests, bee nests, or animal burrows.
Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on high-protein organic matter such as wool, silk, fur, feathers, and keratin. Adults feed primarily on pollen and nectar.
Behavior Patterns
Larvae are scavengers and the primary cause of damage, moving slowly and seeking out dark, secluded areas. Adults are attracted to light and often fly toward windows.
