Moist, fungus-rich sites such as leaf litter, compost, stored foods, damp buildings, and decaying vegetation. The image is too low-resolution for species-level certainty.

Feeds mainly on mold and fungal spores, occasionally consuming decaying organic matter. It does not bite or blood-feed.

Usually crawls slowly and hides in cracks, litter, or damp materials; adults may disperse by walking or weak flight. Populations increase where moisture and mold are present.
