Springtail (likely)

Moist soil, leaf litter, compost, moss, decaying wood, and damp indoor areas such as bathrooms or basements.

Feeds mainly on fungi, algae, bacteria, decaying plant material, and organic debris; it does not bite people.

Often occurs in groups in humid conditions and may jump using a forked abdominal appendage called a furcula. Populations increase with moisture and decline when surfaces dry.

Harmless to humans, pets, and buildings; rare exceptions may nibble tender seedlings. They help decompose organic matter and recycle nutrients, though indoor numbers can indicate excess moisture.
