Diet & Feeding
In the larval stage, they feed on natural fibers, spider webs, wool, and human hair shed in the home.
Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a silk case covered in sand, dust, and debris. It is open at both ends, allowing the larva to feed from either side without turning its body around inside the case.
Risks & Benefits
They are considered minor household pests as they can cause slight damage to woolen rugs or clothing, but they are generally harmless to humans and are not known to transmit diseases.
