Natural Habitat

Feeds on a wide variety of dried foods including grain products, seeds, nuts, dried fruits, chocolate, candies, and pet food.
Behavior Patterns
Larvae spin silk webbing over food sources as they feed; they often crawl away from food sources to walls or ceilings to spin silk cocoons and pupate.

Benefits: None. Risks: Significant household pest that causes food contamination through silk webbing and excrement. They do not bite or carry diseases but result in economic loss through food spoilage.
