Behavior Patterns
Adults are active flyers and attracted to light. Females lay eggs inside or near a food source; larvae burrow into the material to feed and pupate, often creating small holes in packaging.
Risks & Benefits
They are major pests of stored products, causing food spoilage and economic loss. While they do not bite humans or pets, they can infest and ruin wide varieties of household pantry items and organic collections.
