Size: Microscopic; females are approximately 0.30 to 0.45 mm long, while males are about half that size.

Skin of humans and other mammals; they live in the epidermal layer.

Skin cells and tissue fluids of their host.
Behavior Patterns
The female mite burrows into the upper layer of the skin to deposit eggs, leading to characteristic track-like burrows. They are highly contagious and spread through prolonged skin-to-skin contact.
Risks & Benefits
Causes Scabies, a skin infestation characterized by intense itching and a pimple-like rash. Risks include secondary bacterial skin infections (like impetigo) due to scratching; there are no known ecological benefits to human health.
