Bed bug (likely nymph or small adult)

Mattress seams, bed frames, upholstered furniture, cracks, and other sheltered indoor crevices near sleeping areas.

Feeds exclusively on blood, primarily from humans, using piercing-sucking mouthparts; it usually feeds at night.

Flightless, nocturnal, and strongly attracted to warmth and exhaled carbon dioxide. It hides during daylight, molts through five nymphal stages, and can survive for months without feeding.

Bites commonly cause itchy, inflamed welts, though some people show no reaction; bed bugs are not established vectors of human disease. They provide little household benefit and can cause significant stress and treatment costs.
