Bed bug (likely nymph or small adult)

Mattresses, bed frames, upholstered furniture, cracks, and other sheltered indoor areas near sleeping hosts.

Feeds exclusively on blood, primarily from humans and occasionally other warm-blooded animals. It usually feeds at night and hides afterward.

Wingless, flattened, reddish-brown insects that hide in crevices and can survive months without feeding. Females lay eggs in protected cracks; infestations spread mainly by hitchhiking in luggage, clothing, and furniture.

Not known to transmit diseases routinely, but bites can cause itching, allergic reactions, and sleep loss; heavy infestations may cause anemia. They provide no meaningful household benefit.
