Cockroach nymph, likely German cockroach

Warm, humid indoor areas, especially kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing voids, and appliances. Commonly found near food, water, and heat sources.

Omnivorous scavengers that eat crumbs, grease, starches, pet food, decaying organic matter, and occasionally nonfood materials.

Mostly nocturnal, fast-running, and highly secretive; they hide in cracks by day and reproduce rapidly. Nymphs lack fully developed wings and may show a pale stripe behind the head.

Can contaminate food and surfaces and carry allergens that aggravate asthma and allergies. They provide little household benefit, though they recycle organic matter outdoors.
