Flea (probable)

Homes, carpets, upholstery, bedding, and animal resting areas; immature stages develop in protected organic debris.

Adults feed on blood, commonly from cats, dogs, wildlife, or humans; larvae consume dried organic matter and flea feces.

Wingless, laterally flattened, and powerful jumpers; adults hide in fabrics and respond to warmth, movement, and carbon dioxide. Eggs and larvae develop off-host, while adults may remain on animals.

Bites cause itchy papules and can trigger flea-allergy dermatitis; fleas may transmit pathogens and tapeworms. They are also prey for spiders and other predators.
