Natural Habitat
Open areas with plenty of sunshine such as lawns, pastures, and parks; originally native to South America but invasive in the Southern United States.

Omnivorous; they consume proteins (insects, small animals), sugars (honeydew, floral nectar), and oily seeds.
Behavior Patterns
This specimen is an alate (winged reproductive) that participates in 'nuptial flights' after rain to start new colonies. They are known for their extreme aggression and highly coordinated group attacks.
