Natural Habitat

Typically found on the undersides of leaves of trees and shrubs, but often hitchhike on clothing or fabrics outdoors.

Lace bugs suck sap from the undersides of leaves; similar-looking 'insidious flower bugs' are predatory and eat mites and aphids.

Behavior Patterns

They are often active in late summer and fall. While they do not feed on humans, they are known to land on skin and occasionally deliver a small, nuisance bite or 'prod' with their piercing-sucking mouthparts.
