Females produce these protective capsules and may carry them for a few hours to several days before depositing them in a safe location near food sources.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include potential infestations as one case can hold 14 to 48 eggs. Cockroaches are vectors for pathogens and their debris can trigger asthma or allergies. There are no benefits to this in a human environment.
