Bed bug (likely nymph or small adult)

Mattresses, bed frames, furniture seams, and cracks near sleeping areas. They hide during daylight and emerge at night.

Feeds primarily on blood, usually from humans, using piercing-sucking mouthparts. It requires a blood meal to molt and reproduce.

Nocturnal, wingless, and adept at hiding; populations spread through luggage, clothing, and used furniture. Females lay eggs in protected crevices, and development occurs through several nymphal stages.

Bites cause itchy, inflamed welts in some people, but bed bugs are not established vectors of disease. They provide no meaningful household or ecosystem benefit.
