Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on natural fibers such as wool, silk, feathers, and hair, as well as dried food products and dead insects. Adults feed on pollen and nectar.
Behavior Patterns
The beetles undergo complete metamorphosis. Larvae are the stage responsible for damage, seeking out dark, secluded areas to feed. Adults are attracted to light and are often seen near windows.
