Case-bearing clothes moth larva (likely)

Quiet, dark indoor areas such as closets, carpets, upholstered furniture, and wall edges, especially where lint or animal fibers accumulate.

Larvae feed on keratin-containing materials, including wool, fur, feathers, hair, and lint; adults do not feed on fabrics.

The larva lives inside a camouflaged silken case made from fibers and debris, dragging it as it moves. It avoids light and pupates within or near the case; adults are small, pale moths.

Larvae can damage woolens, carpets, furs, and other natural-fiber materials, but do not bite people or transmit disease. They contribute modestly to decomposition of animal-derived fibers.
