Behavior Patterns
The larva camouflages itself by carrying the carcasses of its prey and bits of debris (junk) on its back using hooked bristles. This protects them from birds and ants.
Risks & Benefits
Highly beneficial to humans as biological pest control; however, they are known to occasionally give a small, harmless, but annoying nip to human skin if handled.
