Ground beetle (likely a seed-eating ground beetle)

Usually found under stones, leaf litter, logs, and in soil or garden beds; adults may wander indoors accidentally, especially at night.

Adults commonly eat small insects, larvae, seeds, and other plant material; larvae generally prey on soil-dwelling invertebrates.
