Behavior Patterns

The image provided is very blurry, making precise identification difficult. However, based on the reddish-brown color and teardrop-like shape, it bears some resemblance to a drugstore beetle. Drugstore beetles are known for their ability to bore through various materials. They are active in warm conditions and can infest a wide array of dried goods. Their larvae are responsible for most of the feeding damage.

Risks & Benefits

Potential pest for stored food products, leading to contamination and economic losses. No known direct benefits to humans or the ecosystem in a domestic setting.
