Humid indoor areas, especially books, cardboard, upholstery, and surfaces with mold or fungal growth.

Feeds mainly on mold, fungi, algae, dead organic particles, and occasionally stored-product residues; it does not bite people.

Small, pale insects that crawl slowly and favor moisture; populations increase in damp conditions and decline when areas are dried.

Harmless to humans, pets, clothing, and structures; large numbers indicate excess humidity or mold and can be reduced through ventilation and dehumidification.
