Varied carpet beetle larvae (likely)

Indoors in carpets, upholstery, closets, stored textiles, and bird or rodent nests. Larvae favor dark, undisturbed areas.

Larvae consume keratin-rich materials, including wool, fur, feathers, leather, and dried insects. Adults mainly feed on flower pollen and nectar.

Larvae are slow-moving, densely hairy, and often leave shed skins as they develop. They hide from light and can persist for months in fabric or nest debris.

Larvae can damage natural-fiber clothing, carpets, and taxidermy; their hairs may irritate skin or trigger allergies. They are decomposers outdoors, recycling animal fibers and detritus.
