Natural Habitat

Behavior Patterns
Moves in a slow, slug-like fashion. It produces a cocoon that can remain on twigs for long periods, emerging as the Southern Flannel Moth.
Risks & Benefits
Highly toxic, venomous spines hidden beneath its fur cause intense pain, swelling, and systemic reactions if touched. It is considered one of the most dangerous caterpillars in the U.S.
