German cockroach nymph

Warm, humid indoor areas—especially kitchens, bathrooms, wall voids, and around appliances. This specimen appears to be on a household surface.

Omnivorous scavengers that eat crumbs, grease, starches, pet food, glue, and other organic debris.

Mostly nocturnal, fast-running, and strongly attracted to moisture and warmth. Females carry egg cases until hatching, allowing populations to grow rapidly indoors.

Can contaminate food and surfaces with pathogens and shed allergens that may worsen asthma. They provide little household benefit, though they are decomposers outdoors.
