Bed bug (likely nymph or shed skin)

Bedrooms and other indoor areas, especially mattress seams, bed frames, furniture cracks, and wall crevices.

Feeds exclusively on blood, primarily from humans, using piercing-sucking mouthparts. It usually feeds at night and may remain hidden for weeks between meals.

Wingless, flattened, reddish-brown insects that hide during daylight and emerge nocturnally. Females lay eggs in protected cracks; nymphs molt through five stages and can survive months without feeding.

Bites cause itchy, sometimes blistering welts, but bed bugs are not established major disease transmitters. They can cause sleep disruption, anxiety, and infestations requiring professional treatment.
