Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on organic fibers including spider webs, wool, silk, and human or pet hair shedding.
Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a silk case covered in sand, dust, and debris. It is open at both ends, allowing the larva to turn around inside. They move slowly across surfaces to find food sources.
Risks & Benefits
They are harmless to humans and do not bite or sting. They are considered minor household pests because they can damage silk or wool fabrics and clothing.
