Pierces plant tissues and sucks sap, especially from leaves, shoots, fruits, and developing seeds. It is mainly a plant feeder.
Behavior Patterns
Nymphs pass through several stages before becoming winged adults; adults overwinter in sheltered vegetation or leaf litter. They commonly release a strong odor when disturbed.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless to people and pets, though it can blemish fruit and occasionally damage garden plants. It is part of the food web and is not usually a major crop pest.
