Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding

Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, hair, and silk, as well as dead insects.

Behavior Patterns

The larva constructs a protective silk case flattened like a pumpkin seed, camouflaged with sand, dust, and lint. It can poke its head out from either end to move or feed.

Harmless to humans but considered a household pest as they can damage natural fiber clothing, rugs, and fabrics.
