Natural fibers containing keratin, such as wool, silk, feathers, fur, and hair
Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a protective silken case covered with fragments of the material it is feeding on, carrying it as it moves. It undergoes complete metamorphosis from egg to adult moth.
Risks & Benefits
Mainly a household pest that damages expensive fabrics and textiles; no significant benefits to humans, but serves as a food source for some spiders and predatory insects.
