Size: 0.3 - 0.5 mm (nearly microscopic, appearing as tiny white moving specks)

Natural Habitat
High humidity environments, damp homes, kitchens, bathrooms, and stored food products such as grains, cheese, and dried fruits.
Diet & Feeding
Primarily feeds on mold, fungi, and organic matter rich in protein and fat, as well as various stored food products.
Behavior Patterns
They congregate in large numbers where mold is present; they can survive unfavorable conditions by entering a non-feeding 'hypopus' stage to hitchhike on other insects.
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Can cause 'Grocer's Itch' (skin irritation), allergic reactions, or respiratory issues in sensitive individuals; they contaminate food. Benefits: None to humans, though they indicate high moisture/mold issues that need addressing.
