Natural Habitat

Warm, dry indoor areas such as walls, ceilings, furniture, and electronics; unlike many cockroaches, it does not require damp conditions.

Diet & Feeding

Omnivorous scavenger feeding on crumbs, starches, grease, adhesives, dead insects, and other organic debris.

Behavior Patterns

Primarily nocturnal and fast-moving; hides in cracks during daylight. Females attach egg cases to sheltered surfaces, and multiple life stages may occur indoors year-round.

Risks & Benefits

Can contaminate food and surfaces and spread allergens associated with asthma and dermatitis. It has little meaningful household benefit, though it participates in decomposition outdoors.
