Larvae feed on spider webs and natural fibers such as wool, silk, and human hair.
Behavior Patterns
The larva lives inside a silk-lined protective case shaped like a pumpkin seed or flat diamond. It can poke its head out of either end to move or feed.
Risks & Benefits
A common household pest that can damage rugs, upholstery, and clothing made of natural fibers; poses no direct health risk to humans.
