Natural Habitat
Typically found on walls or floors inside humid houses and buildings; often seen in corners or behind furniture.
Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on organic fibers including spider webs, wool, human hair, and silk fabrics.
Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a protective silk case covered in sand, dust, and debris. It can turn around inside the case and poke its head out of either end. It drags the case along as it moves.
Risks & Benefits
They are considered a minor household pest as they can damage delicate natural fabrics and woolens, but they are not harmful to humans or pets.
